This week, the Year1-2 students learned the word ‘skyline’ and enjoyed photos the view of skyscrapers and cityscapes. They sketched the skyline of tall buildings reflecting on the river.
Drawing straight lines horizontally and vertically can be challenging for them, so this activity provided an
opportunity to practice using scissors. They depicted various shapes of buildings, including tall, short, wide, and narrow structures.
They also tried to capture the feeling of the river reflecting on the water. Additionally, they used scratch paper to draw buildings. It was a diverse and enjoyable building-drawing class.
Next week, they plan to finish the incomplete scratch buildings and experiment with coloring their ketches using acrylic paint.
