This term, Year 1-2 students are exploring the concept of food through art to encourage creativity and develop fine motor skills. We began by discussing the theme of the art lesson – food. I asked the children about their favorite foods and what they like to eat.
Next, I showed them various pictures of different types of food and briefly discussed each one. The children then created fruit portrait art in the style of Italian artists. In another art session, we focused on drawing a cross-section of fruits. We observed both the outside shape and inside shape, drawing with keen observational skills.
All the children did fantastic work!
