The Year 3-4 students will be learning about ‘Collage and Mosaic’ over the next few weeks. In this art unit, we’re going to explore two fun and creative ways to make pictures: collage and mosaic. Both techniques help us learn about shapes, colours, and how we can combine different elements to create something entirely new!
This week, we made a collage that looks like a yummy ice cream cone! We started by sharing the different types of ice cream we know and discussing how they look. Then, we designed three types of ice cream: an ice cream cone, an ice cream cup, and an ice cream bar. After drawing them, we selected coloured paper to add to our ice cream drawings. It was a lot of fun!
