This week, I introduced the students to Korean traditions and the symbolic meanings of bamboo, peony, and plum blossoms. We explored how these elements reflect cultural values and are often featured in traditional art. The lesson focused on teaching art techniques, such as sketching lightly on a 3D lantern surface and using paint to create vibrant designs. Students were encouraged to express their individual creativity while working within the framework of these traditional themes. This lesson provided them with a deeper understanding of Korean Lunar New Year and its rich cultural traditions.
