Y1-2 Art Class Update T3-W1

This week, we had a fun and creative time designing traditional Korean gomusin (rubber shoes) made out of paper. As part of our exploration of traditional Korean art, this lesson was designed to help students better understand and appreciate the culture of our host country, Korea.

We began by talking about what gomusin are and when people used to wear them.

Then, the students got to work decorating their own paper gomusin, using beautiful patterns made with traditional Korean paper, hanji. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect with Korean heritage through art.
