Y5-6 Art Class Update – T1W7

Hangul Day is a day to honor the achievements of King Sejong, who created Hangul, and to widely promote the beauty and importance of the Korean script. King Sejong designed Hangul as a replacement for the complex Chinese characters that were previously used, making it easy for all people to learn. That’s why Hangul is very simple and easy to learn.

This week, HFS students engaged in a special art project using Hangul. They drew King Sejong, and some even used drawings to represent the 10,000 won bill, which features King Sejong. They also created various designs using Hangul consonants and vowels, reflecting on the meaningful significance of Hangul Day.

It was a valuable time for HFS students, as they got to learn more about South Korea, the host country.
