  • Y1-2 Art Class Update – T2W7

    The Year 1-2 children have been learning about parody in art, which means making funny versions of famous artworks. They have looked at paintings by famous artists like Klimt, Munch, Van Gogh, and da Vinci to get ideas for their own funny pictures. Even though their ideas are clever, just looking at their pictures makes us happy and excited to see what they will make next. We can’t wait to see their finished artworks!

    Y3-4 Art Class Update – T2W7

    The year3-4 students engaged in discussions about the efforts needed to preserve our precious Earth and nature. Following this discussion, they created environmental posters. They discussed the essential elements that posters should have—such as slogans, images, and colours—and visually represented their own slogans prominently, incorporating images to enhance their messages.

    Y5-6 Art Class Update – T2W7

    The Year 5-6 students have been diligently practicing the art of creating portraits using oil pastels, exploring various techniques to master different tones and shades in their artwork.

    Y7-9 Art Class Update – T2W7

    The year7-9 Students have learned about the life and works of Leonardo da Vinci, the renowned Renaissance artist. They have delved into the composition and technical aspects of his masterpiece, the Mona Lisa. Utilizing their own creativity, each student has had the opportunity to engage in a parody exercise, reinterpreting the iconic Mona Lisa in their own unique ways.

    FS1-2 Art Class Update – T2W6

    This week, our FS1-2 friends, we had a super cool time learning about feelings and emotions! We watched this really fun story called “The Colour Monster,” where we met a cute monster who had different colors for his feelings. It was so interesting! After watching the story, we all talked about our own feelings and when we usually feel them. It was neat to see how everyone feels different things at different times!     Y1-2 Art Class Update – T2W6

    This week, those who missed out last week continued working on crafting baskets using weaving methods and then added the fruits we painted. Meanwhile, the rest of us started delving into the world of parodying famous art. It’s been a blast exploring the countless amusing art parodies out there. We found some really interesting ones and picked artworks to recreate with our own unique spins.

    Y3-4 Art Class Update – T2W6

    We traced the outlines of some images, carefully cut them out to make stencils, and used them to capture precise colours for specific shapes in the blank spaces of our artwork. Then, we coloured them using water colour paints. We also splattered paint and applied various effects to create our own unique and expressive pieces.

    Y5-6 Art Class Update – T2W6

    This week, we practiced drawing eyes, noses, and mouths. We’ve also grasped how to hatch to create shadows. Additionally, we took pictures of our faces to use for drawing . We’ll be learning how to create different tones and colours using oil pastels next week.

    We’ve completed our art history timeline poster. Beginning next week, we’ll explore each art timeline in more detail and delve into specific artists’ backgrounds.

    FS1-2 Art Class Update – T2W5

    In celebration of the Lunar New Year, we crafted a lucky bag. We colored a lucky bag template, incorporating Korean traditional Hanji paper in some parts.
