  • Y5-6 Art Class Update – T1W1

We’re focusing on “People in Action” this week. We started by looking at pictures of people doing all sorts of movements in photographs. Each of us got a chance to step forward and try out our favorite poses.

Then, we learned about the different parts of the human body, like joints and how they work together to help us move. We practiced drawing stick figures and added small circles to show where the joints are. This helped us see how the body is divided into different parts that move.

After that, we took our stick figures, which were just lines and circles, and made them look like people wearing clothes and shoes. It was so cool to see our drawings come to life!

It was a lot of fun, and we’re getting better at it every day!

“Value” is a term that describes the degree of brightness and darkness. This week, we learned about value and how to use a 9-value scale to create lines and adjust tones. We also learned how to hold a pencil and draw lines. Next week, we will explore and draw tones of light and darkness on the faces of a cube.
