It’s been another busy and exciting week at school, with creative learning happening across all classes and lots of anticipation for next week’s Halloween celebrations! Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we move through a lively and rewarding first term together.
Halloween
Our amazing Halloween party is next Friday, 24th October, from 2pm to 4.30pm, and the PTA and helpers are already busy creating a wonderful experience for our students.
Please note:
- Students are encouraged to dress up in a Halloween costume on this day. They could come to school wearing the costume or change after lunch. All costumes should be appropriate for a school setting.
- The event will finish at 4.30pm, and buses will run at this time. There will be no 3.30pm bus on this day.
- Candy donation are welcomed by the PTA and should be sent to the Admin Office before Thursday
- Parents are very welcome to attend the Halloween event. Make sure you dress up!
Masks Decorating Competition
All students have been given a blank paper mask to decorate in with their most imaginative Halloween design.
Please bring your mask on the day of the Halloween party.
The most creative mask will win a prize!
A letter from the PTA
This year, our PTA has become much smaller, and it has been challenging to manage activities.
As a result, we are facing a shortage of funds for organizing school events and activities for the students.
To support these programs, we will be starting a voluntary donation campaign.
There is no set amount — even a 500 KRW donation is deeply appreciated.
You can contribute anytime through the PTA donation box located at the school.
The donation box will be placed in a visible spot during school events, so please feel free to participate when you attend.
If you would like, you may include your child’s name with your donation to be acknowledged, or you may give anonymously if you prefer.
All donations are managed separately through the PTA account by the school and are used
100% for student events and activities.
We sincerely appreciate your warm support and participation.
Thank you
Parent Consultative Group – Prospective Member
Mrs Park Hee Eun (Hayome’s mother) has kindly expressed her interest in joining the Parent Consultative Group. If there are no objections or additional parents wishing to join, Mrs Park will become a member of the group from our next meeting.
In accordance with the group’s policy, if more parents express interest, an election will be held to determine the new member. Please contact Mr Green if you would like to discuss this matter further.
The school is very appreciative of parents who actively contribute to our community by sharing their perspectives and supporting collaboration between families and the school.

Invitation to the WeHOPE Culture Festa
HFS has been invited to take part in the upcoming WeHOPE Culture Festa, an international community event celebrating diversity and cultural exchange in Ulsan. The festival will take place at Taehwa Riverside on Saturday 8th November and will feature cultural performances, activity booths and an international flea market.
WeHOPE has warmly invited our school community to participate through performances, cultural displays or family-run booths. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the international spirit of HFS and connect with the wider Ulsan community.
If you are interested in being involved, please contact the school.
Ramen for Lunch
To help keep our students safe at lunchtime, we ask that students in Mrs Sim’s and Miss Staines’ classes do not bring ramen for lunch. It is not possible to supervise each student as they pour hot water and move around the cafeteria.
Art Updates
Please remember that Miss Yuli posts an update of what each class has been doing in art each week.

Jigsaw School Charter
As part of our whole-school approach to PSHE through the Jigsaw program, we have created a Jigsaw Charter together. This charter helps us build a safe, respectful, and caring classroom community.
Each class has discussed and agreed on simple rules to help everyone feel comfortable to share, listen, and learn together. These include taking turns to speak, using kind and positive words, respecting others’ privacy, and listening carefully to each other.
The Jigsaw Charter will guide how we behave and interact, supporting our students’ emotional wellbeing and social development throughout the year.
