Ms McClellan - 2024/25
It was a short week but one filled with great learning. Just a note: we will be going to visit our sister kindergarten Happy Boat on Monday morning. There is nothing special that needs to be prepared for that. We started to implement our feelings board and various calm strategies like our calm bottles. The children requested that we make one to go home as, and I quote, “I feel mad at home too, Ms. M”. To use the calm bottle, when your child is feeling a big feeling they may need to center and ground themselves they can shake … Ms M’s Class Term 1 Week 7 Update
What an incredible week we had! We started the week off with a vist from Ms Nila! She’s a dentist (and also Naka and Ayaka’s mom). She showed us how to take care of our teeth. We might have been shy around her at first but we came around and had a great time! We explored patterns in Maths and that doesn’t just mean visual patterns either. We made patterns we actions and patterns with sound. Our Maths assessment was on Thursday to see how everyone was coming along and I’m pleased with the progress this class is making. We … Ms M’s Class Term 1 Week 6 Update
Well that was a short week! It was so lovely to see the children’s smiling faces all through school as they returned from their holiday. As part of our Healthy Habits unit, our homework this week is to check and feel your heart beating through different exercises. If you don’t want to do the ones suggested in the homework pack, it’s OK! You can choose some of your own exercises. Speaking of feeling our hearts beat, that’s what we studied in IEYC the last couple of days. We did exercises and felt our hearts. We tried to take our pulse … Ms M’s Class Update Term 1 Week 5
We had such a fun week! There was so much active learning going on it’s hard to capture it all in just a few paragraphs and photos. The students really enjoyed sharing their photos and videos in this week’s Homework Sharing Time and those students who didn’t have homework to share were a little sad. This week we don’t have homework per se for the Chuseok holiday but if you could kindly send a photo or two of what you did during the holiday so the students can share with the class that would be great. If you’re taking the … Ms. M’s Class Update Term 1 Week 4
Wow! We’re really into the swing of things now! A couple reminders before I begin: Please send a full change of clothes to keep in your child’s locker. There may be a bathroom accident or we may want to play with the water trays or another messy activity. Either way, it’s best if there’s a full change of clothes in their lockers at all times. If an item of clothing comes home, please send its replacement the next day. We will be using the water table in Week 4 so please send clothes ASAP. Some students are still not comfortable … Ms M’s Class Term 1 Week 3 Update

We had a very tiny class this week but we made it work. We made All About Me posters and Initial Sound Name Posters in IEYC. We also had an amazing Entry Point where we found a suitcase! Whose could it be? We also found 4 passports. Could one of those people be the owner of the mystery suitcase. Since we’re great detectives, we discovered the suitcase belonged to Jack Jones, a 34 year old man from the USA. We also determined he must have been travelling to China! We did our phonics testing in order to start our whole … Ms. M’s Class Update Term 1 Week 1

Hello! Welcome and welcome back to everyone in our class. I am so glad you will be joining us on this exciting learning journey we’re about to embark on. I can’t wait to get started! Early Years learning establishes important foundational skills both social-emotionally as well as academically.
