International Curriculum Association

At HFS, we are dedicated to providing a globally-minded and comprehensive education through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). These curricula are designed to develop students’ academic, personal, and international understanding, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.

  • The Intenational Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) for Foundation Stage 1 and 2
  • The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for Year 1 to 6
  • The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for Year 7 to 9

All three programs are offered at HFS to ensure a smooth progression in learning as students move through the school.

The Wider Curriculum

Korean

As an International School located in Korea, we are proud to offer Korean language and Culture lessons to all students from Year 1. Korean lessons are offered at various levels to accommodate students of varying abilities.

Some students who need a bit of extra help with English may take EAL classes instead of Korean when they first join HFS.

Music

At HFS we love to sing, dance and make music. All students have a music lesson with a specialist teacher once a week. In music classes, we also sometimes like to explore some drama activities. Music is also often included in IPC lessons.

Art

Our resident Art Expert, Miss Yuli spends two hours each week with each class. Check out the Art Page to see what we have been making.

Physical Education – PE

We also love to keep physically active and learn new sports and games. Each class has 2 hours of PE lessons per week.

Digital Literacy

Digital literacy is the capacity to navigate, critically assess, and proficiently employ digital technologies and information in today’s digital era. With technology’s growing integration into every area of life, digital literacy has become a vital skill. In school, teaching digital literacy equips pupils with the means to navigate the digital world responsibly, empowering them to access, evaluate, and generate digital content, all while nurturing informed decision-making and online safety.

Personal, Social and Health Education -PSHE

Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) focuses on equipping students with essential life skills, values, and knowledge. It covers a wide range of topics including emotional well-being, relationships, personal development, healthy lifestyles, and citizenship. PSHE is important because it empowers students with the tools they need to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, develop strong interpersonal skills, and lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of their communities.

English as an Additional Language

Many students join HFS who need a little bit of extra help with English. EAL lessons are provided to help these students integrate into school and fully access the curriculum.
