We are spending a few weeks exploring instruments as a theme in art, discovering how artists express musical instruments in unique and interesting styles. This week, we continued our exploration by building on our first lesson, where we observed Pablo Picasso’s famous painting <Three Musicians>.
The kids focused on the instruments, colours, and shapes in the artwork, discussing how Picasso used vibrant hues and geometric forms to convey the musical theme. With these ideas in mind, they created their own version of Three Musicians using a collage technique, layering and shapes in the style of Picasso’s playful and expressive approach.
Mrs. Barbara helped display the children’s artwork. I’m so grateful!
