Anti-Graft Laws

As we come to the end of the school year, please be reminded of the school’s policy regarding giving gifts to staff. If you need any clarification, contact the Admin Office, who will be glad to help.

This includes all forms of individual gifts and group gifts. Even with the best intentions, giving these gifts could put the staff member and the school in legal trouble.

Gifts can only be accepted in the following circumstances:

All HFS staff may receive gifts from parents/students who are permanently leaving the school.
All HFS staff who are permanently leaving the school may receive gifts.
Gift-giving is a personal choice, and families are in no way obligated to give gifts in the above permissible circumstances. Well-wishing cards are allowed to be given at any time.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents, families and friends who attended and supported our recent Sports Day.

Your presence, encouragement, and enthusiasm made the day even more special for our students. Whether you were cheering from the sidelines, helping out behind the scenes, or simply sharing in the fun, your involvement truly contributed to the positive spirit and success of the event.

It was a joy to see so many families come together to celebrate teamwork, effort, and school pride. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to many more shared experiences in the future.

Thank you once again for being part of such a memorable day!

A note from Miss Yuli

Dear Parents,

On Friday, June 13th, we will be holding a special art exhibition in the school hall, featuring selected artworks from Term 2 and Term 3.

The exhibition will showcase the meaningful and creative works of our students, who have worked with great enthusiasm and dedication throughout their art classes. We warmly invite all parents to attend and help us celebrate the children’s efforts and artistic growth.

As Korea is our host country, this exhibition will feature many pieces that reflect Korean culture and identity, created using traditional Korean materials. Students have also explored the lives and art of notable Korean artists, which will be represented in their work.

In addition, the exhibition will include art inspired by world-renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Henri Matisse, and Amedeo Modigliani.

We hope you will join us for this meaningful event and enjoy the wonderful display of student creativity.

Thank you!

Warm regards,
Miss Yuli

  • For any changes to bus arrangements, parents must contact the Admin Office by phone or email before 12:30 PM on the same day.
(Please note: Bus duty teachers, homeroom teachers, and students cannot process bus changes.)

Residential Trips

Currently, not enough students have expressed interest in the residential trip to make the trips viable.

We will leave the forms up until Friday 28th May and then announce whether the trip will go ahead.

Here is the information we shared last week...

Before we begin planning in detail, we would like to gauge the level of support from parents for taking out Year 3/4, Year 5/6, and Year 7/8/9 classes away for a residential trip in Term 3. In the past 2 years, we have taken these classes away in term 3 for overnight stays at facilities in the local area. Last year we went to a location near Busan, and the year before we went to Unmoonsan Recreastional Forest. The Year 3/4 class would spend one night away from home, and the older students would stay for two nights. The students look forward to these trips, and we believe they are an important experience that develops confidence, responsibility, and leadership.

Here is the presentation we gave about last year’s trip. The format for this year’s trip will be very similar, but we may change the activities and location.

Parents of students in Mr. Dunn’s, Ms. Temple’s, and Mrs. Leah’s class are invited to share their opinions using this form.

Middle School Teacher

The school is currently advertising for a new middle school teacher to join our team for the 2025/26 academic year. This will increase the number of class teachers in the middle section to two. The exact split of these classes and how the extra teacher will be utilised will depend upon recruitment and the number of students at each age level that enrol for next year. We are especially keen to recruit a math specialist.

The job posting is available on the school website.

Music Teacher

We are pleased to announce that Ms Elizabeth (Sooyeon Park) will be joining HFS from Term 3 to teach music. Ms. Elizabeth is currently teaching private piano lessons at school and is already well known to the students.

After-School Activities in Term 3

After-school activities in term 3 will begin in week 2. A full list of available activities and sign-up forms will be published next week.
