HFS Newsletter – Term 3 – Week 3

Sports Day

HFS Sports Day will be held on Thursday 16th May (next week) at the Ulsan College football field. The event will follow a similar schedule to last years sports day, with activities starting at 10am and finishing in the early afternoon. Students will enjoy a packed lunch at the pitch. Parents are very welcome to join us at this event. Further details to follow in the next newsletter.

Buddha’s Birthday Holday

Please remember that Wednesday 15th May (next week) is Buddha’s Birthday holiday.

Returning Students Survey

Thank you to everyone who has told us about their plans for next year. We are still missing a lot of responses.

To help us plan for next year, we need to know who will be returning to HFS for the academic year 2024/25.

Please take a moment to complete this form and let us know if you will be joining us next year.

InCAS Assessments

As you may be aware, students in Ms Temple’s class and above have been doing a series of InCAS Assessments this week. These assessments help us determine how well each student is progressing in maths, English, spelling, mental arithmetic, vocabulary acquisition, and non-verbal reasoning. The result of these assessments will be available for discussion at parent-teacher conferences in week 10.

School Consultative Group Representative Election

We are holding elections to select two parent representatives to join our School Consultative Group.

The aims of the School Consultative Group are:

  • To ensure smooth and effective communication amongst all stakeholders in the school
  • To help the school community acquire an improved understanding of the operation of the school
  • To listen to the views and opinions of the school community and endeavour to reflect them in the management of the school

The election will proceed as follows:

  • If a parent would like to nominate a parent to be a representative, please complete a nomination form by Friday 10th May. You may nominate two people, including yourself.
  • Voting papers with the candidates’ names will be sent home with students on Monday 13th May
  • Voting papers must be returned by Friday 17th May
  • The results will be announced via the newsletter on Friday 17th May
  • The first meeting of the newly elected group will be on Wednesday 29th May

The operation of this group is fully explained in the School Consultative Group Policy
