HFS Newsletter – Term 2 – Week 9

Nature Garden Building Day

Mr. Green is looking for some help to get our nature garden ready for the season.

Does anyone want to help this weekend?

Students accompanied by parents are all welcome. It is a great chance to enjoy some time working outside in nature and to learn a bit about gardening.

Saturday 9th March, from 11am

We have lots to do, including:

  • Assembling our raised beds
  • Moving lots of soil to fill our beds
  • Arranging a new coconut mat path
  • Assembling and installing some bird feeders and bird houses
  • Planting some trees

If you are interested, please contact Mr Green

We have about 5 families joining so far!

International Cookbook

We want your wonderful recipes!

As part of our International Day and food sharing event, the PTA is planning to make an international cookbook featuring recipes from the many countries represented in our community. The final cookbook will be sold to raise funds for the PTA and would make a wonderful souvenir of your time at HFS.

Please use this form to share a recipe (or two) that is special to your family. Alternatively, recipes can be shared with the PTA via email (pta@hyundaiforeignschool.com).

We can’t wait to see what wonderful recipes our community will share!

Cover design

We also need an amazing design for the front cover from one of our students.

Paper for designing is available from Mr. Green.

Thank you!

Uniforms

A quick reminder that all students are expected to have at least one set of school uniform to wear on special occasions such as trips and school photograph days.

School Photogrpahs

We will edit and publish the photographs very soon.

International Day Food Share

We are planning an exciting international day for the last day of this term. A feature of this day will be an international food sharing event for the students and our whole community. We are looking for people who want to host a table, individually or as part of a team.

Please sign-up using this form.

So far, we have tables from:

USA | Indonesia | Philippines | Korea | Ukraine | Japan | Denmark | China | India | Canada

Here are some examples from other schools to help you understand what it could look like.

Help in the Library

Thank you to everyone who has been helping with book sorting and reorganising the library. It is looking a lot better, and the students have access to lots of new books.

There is still work to be done, and any help is much appreciated.
